Aamir Khan's "Sitare Zameen Par" Coming to YouTube
Aamir Khan has decided to release his new film "Sitare Zameen Par" on YouTube's Movies-on-Demand platform just about one month after its theatrical release. The movie will be available exclusively on YouTube starting Friday and won't be released on any other digital platforms.
Global Release Announcement
On Tuesday, Aamir Khan announced that "Sitare Zameen Par" will be available worldwide on YouTube starting August 1, 2025. The film will be accessible in India for 100 rupees, while viewers in 38 other countries, including the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, Germany, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, and Spain—can watch it at local pricing.
Box Office Success and Digital Availability
So far, "Sitare Zameen Par" has earned over 250 crore rupees globally. Now, audiences will have the chance to rent and watch it on YouTube. To reach new viewers worldwide, the film will also be available with subtitles and dubbing in major languages.
Future Plans and YouTube's Reach
In the coming months, more films from Aamir Khan Productions will be released on this platform. YouTube has a massive global reach, according to a Comscore report, in 2024, four out of five Indians aged 18 and above used YouTube. Worldwide, entertainment videos on YouTube were viewed over 7.5 billion times daily. This move ensures that "Sitare Zameen Par" reaches an even wider audience beyond traditional cinema-goers.
