Ushakiran, Daughter of Former President Bhandari, Criticizes UML’s Decision
Kathmandu After the CPN-UML’s Central Committee publicly decided that former President Bidhya Devi Bhandari should not participate in the party’s formal politics, her daughter Ushakiran Bhandari expressed her dissatisfaction through social media.
On Wednesday, in a long Facebook post, Ushakiran voiced her discontent with the party’s decision, writing:
“I was surprised to see how many of you were shocked by this decision. How are you living without even acknowledging human nature?”
Allegations of Manipulation in Decision-Making
She claimed there was manipulation involved in reaching the decision, stating:
“I am not surprised by either the decision or the manipulation that led to it. I’m glad this came out in the open.”
Even though she had always openly supported the party, Ushakiran said that recent events have taught her why Pushpalal’s family never gave moral support to the UML.
“They Made It Impossible to Even Offer Moral Support”
She further wrote:
“Over the past month, I have learned that they can bring things to a point where even offering moral support becomes impossible. And they don’t even seek moral support. This incident has given me the chance to unburden this realization today. So, thanks to this incident!”
