Khadang connected to road network, bringing cheers among locals

Tripurakot, Dolpa –The Khadang settlement that lies in the Tripurasundari Municipality-5 in remote mountainous district, Dolpa has been connected to the national road network.

The settlement has been accessible by a motorable road with the completion of a nine-kilometer road project linking Tribeni Bazar bordering Rukum district with Khadang. The Nepal Army had got the responsibility for implementing the project under the Jajarkot Dolpa Road Section. Now, it is connected to the national road work via Shreebinde and Chiplebhir.

Former Peace and Reconstruction Minister and incumbent federal parliament member Satya Pahadi inaugurated the road amidst a programme Sunday. On the occasion, lawmaker Pahadi said the construction of a motorable road on a cliff seemed impossible for her, stating that she was greatly thankful to the NA for making such 'unimaginable' task possible.

Now, only the construction of three kilometers motorable road remains to entirely connect the district with the national road network.
Dolpa Province Assembly ' Kha' member Bir Bahadur Shahi expressed his hope that the successful implementation of the project would open a door for further development in the district.

The Khadang folks were elated to see motors plying through nearby from their house yards. Now, their travel hours from home to Nepalgunj and Surkhet have been reduced to two days from many weeks, shared a local Krishna Chandra Pandey. Besides, they expect to see a fall in the prices of daily consumer goods with the availability of transport facility in the village. ---
