MP Karki questions Mishra's exclusion as Health Secretary

Kathmandu, March 7 — Rashtriya Swatantra Party MP Dr. Tosima Karki has questioned the health ministry's decision to not appoint Sangita Mishra as Secretary, despite her seniority.
She has sought answers from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Health Minister Pradeep Paudel regarding the issue.
While speaking during a special session in the House of Representatives, MP Karki questioned whether male ministers are unable to work with female secretaries. "Why, despite being senior, was Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra not appointed as the Secretary?" she asked.
Karki further expressed concern, suggesting that women are being appointed to parliamentary positions only for the sake of gender quotas, rather than based on their qualifications or capabilities.
