NEPSE rises by 75 points on Sunday

Kathmandu, March 2 — Nepal Stock Market rose by 75 points in a single day.
On the first day of the week, Sunday, the market index increased by 75.24 points, reaching 2890.28 points.
Today, securities worth 14.25 billion Nepali rupees were traded.
The prices of 196 companies rose, while 44 companies saw a decline, and 4 companies maintained stable prices.
Today, all sectors except mutual funds saw an increase in their indexes.
The productive industry sector recorded the highest growth at 4.79%, followed by life insurance at 4.31%, finance at 4.28%, and hotel and tourism at 4.14%.
Other sectors such as development banks, investment, and non-life insurance also saw an increase of more than 3%, while the commercial bank sector, which holds the largest share in market capitalization, grew by 2.53%.
Today, 5 companies hit the positive circuit limit, including Himalayan Distillery, Guardian Micro Life, Nepal Life Insurance, Sindhu Development Bank, and Dordi Khola Hydroelectric.
On the other hand, Samaj Micofinance faced a negative circuit limit.
In terms of trading volume, Nepal Reinsurance Company had a turnover of 97 million rupees, and Himalayan Reinsurance saw 86 million rupees worth of trading.
Himalayan ranked first and Nepal Reinsurance came second in terms of trading volume.
The rise in the market is primarily attributed to the relaxed monetary policy implemented by the Nepal Rastra Bank, leadership changes at the , and the improving economic conditions.
The current market level is the highest seen in the past six months.
