Nepal to host first-ever Canyoing Festival

Kathmandu, February 28 — Nepal is set to host its first-ever Canyoning Festival.

The three-day festival will take place from today February 28 to March 2 at Borderland Eco Resort in Gathi, Sindhupalchowk.

Organized by Borderland Eco Resort, this festival is specifically targeted towards Nepali adventure enthusiasts.

The event will feature thrilling activities such as mountaineering, trekking, rafting, paragliding, mountain biking, and honey collection, aiming to attract adventure tourists.

Nepal is known for several famous canyoning spots, including Sundarijal in Kathmandu, Old Jumbo in Sindhupalchowk,  Pokhara and Jalbire in Chitwan.

Megh Ale, the operator of Borderland Eco Resort and the chairman of Nepal River Conservation Trust (NRCT), mentioned that the safety of participants in these adventurous sports will be a top priority.

He stated, "During canyoning, we are giving special attention to water flow, geographical conditions, and the safety of the players. We are organizing this event with a wide program for the first time in Nepal during the spring season."
