Rising public support signals party's popularity: Prachanda

Morang, February 25 — Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has stated that the growing public attraction towards his party symbolizes the rise of the red sun in the east, which will energize the entire country.
He expressed this view while addressing the gathering of party cadres in Ramailo Bazaar, Kanepokhari Rural Municipality, Morang, .
Prachanda noted that the recent attraction towards the Maoist party in the eastern region has confirmed the metaphor of the "red sun rising in the east."
He explained that this was practically proven in the recent local level by-election and would have a nationwide impact by the 2027 general elections.
He also mentioned that the party's decision to reconnect with its base, after feeling somewhat disconnected from its class and community, has revived a new enthusiasm among the people.
Prachanda pointed out that the direct participation of oppressed communities in the people's war had brought historical awakening in all sectors.
Despite this, he acknowledged that the party had faced challenges in managing its own agenda, leading to doubts among its base, prompting serious self-reflection and a return to its core constituency.
He criticized the Congress and UML parties, stating that they are unwilling to implement the existing constitution.
Prachanda emphasized that the people’s rights must be safeguarded, and his party would lead the charge to protect all ethnicities, languages, cultures, and community identities, with the support of oppressed communities.
He further stressed that depriving the oppressed communities of their rights would be like reversing history, and emphasized that his party is committed to standing by them.
Prachanda declared that only the Maoists can protect the rights of the Nepali people and the nation, urging the people to continue supporting the movement.
Prachanda clarified that his party was not established by anyone's grace but by the strength of the Nepali people, and that they would continue to move forward through united popular efforts.
He also committed that the party would not repeat the mistakes of past alliances, particularly with Congress and UML, which he believed weakened the people's agenda and harmed the party's interests.
