Loan-sharking victims prepare for major protest in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, February 25 — Victims of loan-sharking are gearing up for another visit to Kathmandu.
As part of their campaign against economic exploitation, the Farmers and Workers Movement Nepal will host a large-scale interaction program in the capital on Falgun 20.
Umesh Kori, a central member of the Farmers and Workers Movement Nepal, shared details about the upcoming event.
The program will center around the theme "Loan-sharking Crime: Political Declaration or Legal Remedy."
The event aims to address the ongoing challenges faced by loan-sharking victims.
If their grievances remain unresolved, further protests are planned.
Kori noted that government officials and leaders from major political parties have been invited to attend, with the expectation that a tangible solution will be found to address the issues caused by loan-sharking and provide justice to the victims.
He concluded, "If no solution comes from this program, we are ready to initiate a large-scale movement once again."
