Nepal Army plants 1,100 saplings under 'Go Green' campaign
Pokhara - Some 1,100 saplings ove various species have been planted at the premises of Pokhara-based Western Regional Hospital and Setidobhan today under the 'Go Green' campaign of the Nepal Army. The Siddhibaks Battalion, Phoolbari, organised the tree sapling plantation programme.
On the occasion, West Region Division Chief, Major General Jagadish Chandra Pokharel, said that tree plantation was indispensable to make the environment clean, healthy and green.
Similarly, Assistant Forest Officer, Nabin Bishwokarma, said that a healthy person needs 16 kilograms of oxygen in 24 hours, adding priority should be given to tree plantation in view of the increasing number of population every year.
Chief of Siddhibaks Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Madan Thapa Chhetri, Director of Western Regional Hospital, Arjun Acharya, Dean Narendra Bikram Gurung, among others expressed their views about the importance of tree plantation.
Hundred saplings were planted at the hospital premises and 1,000 saplings at Setidobhan.
