PM Oli calls for high-level political mechanism meeting

Kathmandu, February 9 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called for a meeting of the high-level political mechanism of the ruling coalition.

The meeting is scheduled for today (Sunday) evening at 5 PM at Baluwatar, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

The high-level mechanism, led by leaders of the ruling parties, includes Prime Minister Oli, Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Thapa, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba.

Also included from the CPN (UML) are Senior Vice Chairman Ishwar Pokharel, Vice Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, and Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal.

The mechanism has been providing suggestions for government operations.

Both parties have also established similar mechanisms at the provincial and district levels.

The two parties had formed these mechanisms with the aim of supporting the government's operations.
