NC President Deuba expresses confidence in PM Oli

Pokhara, February 4 — Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has stated that there is no reason to distrust current Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Addressing an orientation program for district presidents and training department heads from all 77 districts in Pokhara, Deuba praised Oli, the leader of the CPN (UML).

"To be honest, Oli and I were once comrades in prison. We went through a lot of hardship and had no chance of release," Deuba said.

He added, "Although we are major political rivals, there is no reason to distrust KP Oli."

Deuba emphasized that both parties have historically fought for democracy and freedom, and he believes that there should be mutual trust between them.

He also reaffirmed that the alliance between Congress and UML in the current government is crucial for political stability.

"Voices have been raised questioning how a government was formed between two major competing parties. But if the Congress and UML reach an agreement, political stability can be established," Deuba said.

"When governments might fall or how long they will last is unpredictable, but the stability of this government formed by the two parties is clear," Deuba added.

Deuba also mentioned that unity within the Nepali Congress could bring them closer to a majority in upcoming elections. "If we can unite within the party, Congress can secure a majority," he said.

"I hope this training will help strengthen the unity of the party," he further stated.
