Five killed in multiple road accidents across Nepal

Kathmandu, January 13 — Five people have lost their lives in various traffic accidents across the country.

According to the police headquarters, one person died after being hit by a bus in Manahari Rural Municipality-6, Nayabasti, in Makwanpur. The bus, bearing registration number Na.1 Ka 9250, was traveling from Manahari Bazaar towards Nayabasti when the accident occurred.

The victim, 2-year-old Puja Thapa, sustained serious injuries and died during treatment at Hetauda Hospital. The bus driver has been taken into police custody.

In another incident, a tractor (registration number Bhe.1 Ta 9826) collided on the road in Janaki Rural Municipality-3, Indrapur, in Banke on Sunday evening. The tractor's helper, 28-year-old Rafiq Jolah of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-16, died at the scene.

Similarly, in a road collision between a car (registration number Ba. Pr. 01-027 Cha 8229) and a motorcycle (registration number Ja. 11 Pa 7796) in Simradhi, Sabaila Municipality-10, Dhanusha, a 21-year-old man named Aman Kumar Sah, a resident of Sabaila Municipality-9, died after being severely injured.

Sah succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Janakpur. Another motorcyclist, who was injured in the accident, was transferred to the Neuro Hospital in Janakpur for further treatment.

In Rupandehi, a motorcycle (Indian registration number UP 55 D 6958) lost control in Rohini Rural Municipality-3, Ramnagar, on Sunday night, causing the death of 26-year-old Rajendra Chaudhary from Maharajganj, India, who was riding pillion on the motorcycle.

He died while receiving treatment at a medical college in Bhairahawa. The motorcycle rider, who was severely injured, is still undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

In Kapilvastu, near the Badhara Bridge in Buddhabhumi Municipality-2, a truck (registration number Ba. Pr. 03-001 Kh 2220) hit a motorcycle (registration number Lu. 91 Pa 3143) on Monday morning.

The motorcycle driver, 20-year-old Arjun Tharu from Gorusinge, Buddhabhumi Municipality-2, Kapilvastu, died from injuries sustained in the accident.

He died during treatment at the District Hospital in Taulihawa. The truck driver has been taken into police custody.
