Three killed in separate traffic accidents across Nepal
Kathmandu, January 12 — Three people have died in separate road accidents in various districts. The fatalities occurred in Parsa, Chitwan, and Palpa.
In Parsa, a 45-year-old man named Shivkumar Kurmi from Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality was killed on Saturday afternoon after falling off a tractor (number NA.6 Ta 334) on the road in Alau Gaun, Birgunj Metropolitan City-17.
He was severely injured and later died during treatment at the Narayani Hospital in Birgunj. The tractor driver has been taken into police custody.
In Chitwan, a 90-year-old pedestrian, Baikunthanath Lamsal, was struck by a motorcycle (number Ba. Pr. 06-002 Pa 4867) in Ratnanagar Municipality-10 on Saturday afternoon.
He sustained serious injuries and died during treatment at the New Medical College in Bharatpur. The motorcycle rider has also been detained by the police.
Similarly, in Palpa, a 46-year-old woman named Sita Gahatraj from Tansen Municipality-11 was hit by a vehicle (number Lu.2 Kha 5618) on Saturday evening in Samakot.
She was critically injured and later passed away during treatment at the Lumbini Medical College in Prabhas, Palpa. The driver of the vehicle has been taken into police custody.
Police are conducting necessary investigations regarding all these accidents.
