Weather update: Western winds affecting weather across country

Kathmandu, January 9 — The Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that the country is currently experiencing a normal influence of western winds. As a result, partial cloud cover is observed in the hilly areas of the Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, while the rest of the country mainly has clear weather.

Many areas of the Terai are experiencing fog and mist.

Koshi Province – In the afternoon, partial cloud cover is expected in the Himalayan region, with a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places.

Partial cloud cover is also expected in the hilly areas.

The Terai is likely to remain mainly clear. At night, partial cloud cover is likely in the Himalayan and hilly regions, with the Terai remaining mainly clear.

Madhes Province – The Terai is expected to remain mainly clear during the day and night.

Bagmati Province – During the day, the Himalayan region is likely to remain mainly clear, with the hilly and Terai regions also expected to be mainly clear. At night, the weather in all regions is expected to remain mainly clear.

Gandaki Province – During the day, the Himalayan region is likely to remain mainly clear, with the hilly and Terai regions also remaining mainly clear. At night, the weather in all regions is expected to be mainly clear.

Lumbini Province – During the day, the hilly areas are likely to remain mainly clear, and the Terai will also remain mainly clear. At night, both the hilly areas and Terai are expected to remain mainly clear.

Karnali Province – The Himalayan and hilly areas are expected to remain mainly clear during the day and night.

Sudurpashchim Province – The Himalayan and hilly areas are likely to remain mainly clear during the day and night, with the Terai also expected to be mainly clear.

In the early morning hours, there is a possibility of fog and mist in some Terai and valley areas, which may partially impact daily life, health, transportation, and air travel.
