Second edition of Dragon Boat Race Festival kicks off in Pokhara (photos)

Pokhara, December 29 — The second edition of the Dragon Boat Race Festival kicked off today in Pokhara, aimed at strengthening cultural ties between Nepal and its neighboring country, China, while also promoting tourism.

The event, featuring teams from Nepal, China, and Singapore, is set to run over two days.

A total of 20 teams will compete in the exciting race, showcasing a vibrant celebration of culture and sports.

The winners of the race will be awarded $5,000 in prize money, with the second and third place teams receiving $2,000 and $1,200 respectively.

The festival is expected to boost international tourism and deepen Nepal's cultural connections with China and Singapore.
