PM Oli directs appointment of deans and campus chiefs at TU by December 22

Kathmandu, December 12 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed that the appointments of deans and campus chiefs, who have already been recommended, be completed by December 22.

The directive came during a Senate meeting on Thursday when members raised concerns about the delay in the appointments.

As the Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Prime Minister Oli emphasized the need for appointments to be made based on genuine meritocracy and only for those positions that can effectively run the university.

He stated, "We must ensure quality education for all. The university should operate freely within the boundaries of its rules and regulations. Its autonomy is granted through the Senate, not individually."
