Demonstrations scheduled at three locations in Kathmandu, traffic diversions at 113 places

Kathmandu, November 22 — Demonstrations have been scheduled at three locations in Kathmandu today. The CPN (UML) has organized an 'awakening rally' at Durbar Marg. Similarly, at Maitighar Mandala, a program is being held by cooperative victims, and another event led in support of Durga Prasain under the National, Nationalism, Religion, Culture, and Citizen Protection Campaign is taking place in Koteshwar.

According to SSP Uma Prasad Chaturvedi from the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, traffic diversions have been set up at 113 points in the valley for traffic management. A total of 644 traffic police officers have been deployed to manage traffic for these three events.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to address the gathering at Durbar Marg. To manage the traffic in the area, vehicles attempting to enter have been diverted from Keshar Mahal, Mahendra Statue, and Jay Nepal intersection since morning. SSP Chaturvedi confirmed that vehicular entry to the Durbar Marg area has been restricted.

The traffic police have planned to avoid halting vehicles as much as possible in Maitighar and Koteshwar.

SSP Chaturvedi stated that diversions will be made only if necessary based on the crowd pressure at the demonstration sites. He added, "We will decide diversions based on the crowd size, and we aim to avoid diversions at Maitighar Mandala."

The UML rally starts from Bhadrakali at 11 AM. SSP Chaturvedi noted that traffic will be diverted as needed as the rally progresses.
