Rasuwa Customs Office reopens after one month
Kathmandu, October 29 — The Rasuwa Customs Office, which was closed due to landslides caused by floods in the last week of September, has reopened today.
With the reopening of the customs post, 26 cargo trucks have entered Nepal. According to the Rasuwa Customs Office, these trucks are carrying fruits, clothing, electrical materials, and equipment for hydroelectric projects.
Due to incomplete road conditions, trucks are limited to carrying no more than 15 tons of goods. Many items brought in for the Dashain and Tihar festivals were stuck at the border after landslides and floods blocked roads on both the Nepal and China sides.
The Rasuwa Customs Office informed that daily revenue collection was affected by approximately NPR 80 million during the customs closure.
