India condemns Kabul terror attack

NEW DELHI– India has strongly condemned the terror attack killing at least 33 people in Afghan capital Kabul Wednesday.
Around 65 people were wounded in the terror attack, described as the fifth suicide bomb attack in Kabul in recent weeks, which took place on the occasion of Persian New Year "Nawroz" targeting a group of Shiite Muslims who were celebrating.

"India unequivocally condemns in the strongest terms the inhumane and barbaric terrorist attack in Kabul on Wednesday," said an official statement issued in New Delhi.

"What makes this attack particularly reprehensible is the fact that the terrorists and their backers chose the festive day of Nawroz to carry out their heinous act, with the attacker trying to target a group of innocent Afghans who were celebrating Nawroz. This is not only an attack on the Afghan people but also an attack on their identity and culture," the statement said. Enditem
