Prime Minister Oli confirms BP Highway will open Friday morning

Kathmandu, October 10 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced that the BP Highway will be operational starting Friday morning. He shared this information quoting a phone conversation with Engineer Keshav Sharma, Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure.

According to the Prime Minister, the remaining blockages at three locations will be cleared as work continues throughout the day and night. He expressed gratitude to the entire team, including the technicians working around the clock to open the road.

In a post on social media, Prime Minister Oli wrote, “I spoke on the phone a little while ago with Engineer Keshav Sharma, Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, who has been on-site with his team to clear the landslide blockage on the BP Highway. He is currently in Daune, Ward No. 9 of Roshi Rural Municipality, with the road repair technical team. According to him, the BP Highway will be operational by 10 AM tomorrow. Work throughout the day and night will clear the remaining blockages. He mentioned that Dashain celebrations will begin only after the highway is open. Thank you to the entire team, including the technicians, for their tireless efforts to open the road!”
