NRB to spend NPR 1 billion to print NPR 3.5 billion in notes
Kathmandu, October 9 — The Nepal Rastra Bank has decided to award the contract for printing approximately 3.4 billion rupees worth of 10-rupee notes to a Chinese company.
The contract has been granted to a Chinese company named "China Bank Note Printing and Minting Corporation" for the printing of 340 million pieces of notes.
For this printing, the company will incur a cost of 7,117,934 US dollars. According to the current exchange rate, they had proposed a cost of approximately 958.4 million rupees. This indicates that it will cost around 2.82 rupees to print a single 10-rupee note.
