Flash flood alerts issued for small rivers in eastern Nepal
Kathmandu, October 3 — Heavy rainfall is occurring in various regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces today. Due to the continuous rain since last night, the water levels in several rivers and streams have reached near-danger levels.
According to the Flood Forecasting Division, there is a risk of flash floods in small rivers flowing through Panchthar, Tehrathum, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchok, and surrounding districts.
The division has advised communities along the banks of these rivers and streams to exercise high alertness.
