Daunne road blockage: One-way traffic resumes

Nawalparasi, October 1 — The landslide-affected road in Daunne, West Nawalparasi, has reopened for one-way traffic. The road was repaired, and one-way traffic has been operational since 9:00 AM today, according to Resham Bohara, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Information Officer at the District Police Office.

He noted that preparations are underway to restore two-way traffic later today after ensuring the road repairs.

Following the complete blockage of the road, repair work began at 11:00 PM last night, as reported by Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Phuyal. Teams from the Road Division Office, District Administration Office, and security agencies arrived at the site to commence repairs.

Continuous rainfall had caused the main East-West Highway to collapse in the Daunne forest area of Khursani Khola, Bardghat Municipality-4. The road was entirely blocked after the landslide occurred on Monday evening.
