Bodies of missing truck driver and helper retrieved

Butwal, September 30 — The bodies of the driver and helper of a milk-carrying vehicle, which had been missing since Saturday due to flooding, have been found today.

The vehicle, a jeep numbered Bhe 1 Cha 2676, was transporting milk from Marchawar in Rupandehi towards Bhairahawa when the driver and helper went missing.

According to SP Ranjit Singh Rathore, chief of the district police office, the bodies of driver Prakash Tamang and helper Umesh Lodh were discovered in the Ghaghra River in Rupandehi.

The jeep, which had been swept away by the flood, was retrieved by the Rupandehi disaster management team with the help of a crane on Sunday. The bodies were found approximately 100 meters below the jeep.

The vehicle had left the Tiwari milk collection center located in Rohinihawa, Sammarimai Rural Municipality-5, at 5 AM on Saturday, heading towards Bhairahawa.
