In pictures: Jhyaple Khola landslide, rescue efforts onging

Dhadhing, September 29 — Rescue operations are ongoing for those affected by the landslide at Jhyaple Khola in Dhunibesi Municipality-9.

So far, 27 bodies have been recovered from the buses and microbuses buried in Saturday's landslide. 

Rescuers continue their efforts using excavators and other equipment. According to the Armed Police Force, the trapped vehicles include a microbus from Butwal, a bus from Gorkha, and another microbus from Chitwan. There are concerns about other vehicles that may also be buried under the debris.

Assistant Spokesperson of the Armed Police Force, Shailendra Thapa, mentioned that as the landslide began, the vehicles tried to move to the side for safety, but a significant landslide occurred at that moment, leading to the disaster.

On Saturday, 14 bodies were recovered, and today an additional 13 bodies have been found.
