Landslide blocks Karnali highway in Kalikot

Surkhet, September 26 — The Karnali Highway has been closed since last night due to landslides caused by heavy rain. The road was blocked when a landslide occurred at the Gagane river in Shubhakalika Rural Municipality, Kalikot.

According to the District Traffic Police Office in Kalikot, no vehicles have been able to operate on the highway.

Police reported that multiple landslides have affected various locations along the Kalikot section of the Karnali Highway.

The Road Division Office in Jumla has dispatched excavators to clear the debris and restore access.
