Death of new mother sparks outrage at Karnali Province Hospital

Surkhet, September 23 — Tensions have escalated in the premises of Karnali Provincial Hospital following the death of a new mother.

Relatives of the deceased woman are protesting, claiming that the mother died due to the negligence of doctors.

The 19-year-old Sharmila Kumal from Birendranagar Municipality-6 passed away during treatment last night.

She was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after experiencing labor pains. She was undergoing treatment for bleeding being admitted in the ICU when she died.

Following the protests from her relatives, police have been deployed to the area.
