Five killed in vehicle accidents across Nepal

Kathmandu, September 21 — Nepal Police has informed that five people have died in various vehicle accidents across the country.

In Chitwan, a motorcycle with registration number BA. PR. 06-002 PA 3145 lost control while heading from Shahid Chowk to Pokhara Bus Park on the road at Lilachok, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-2. The accident occurred last night, resulting in the deaths of 26-year-old Robin Thapa, a resident of Gaindakot Municipality-5, Nawalpur, and 40-year-old Purna Bahadur Gurung, who lived in Dudh Pokhari Rural Municipality-6, Lamjung. They succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at New Medical College, Bharatpur.

In Bara, a tragic incident occurred on Friday afternoon when 4-year-old Sajan Kumar Singh, son of Ajay Singh from Suwarna Rural Municipality-1, fell from a tractor with registration number Province 2-0300 TA 3854. Ajay was loading bricks onto the tractor when Sajan fell and was run over by the vehicle, resulting in his death at the scene.

In Saptari, a motorcycle with registration number BA. 26 PA 6401 collided with a city rickshaw with registration number Pr. 1-02-003 HA 3521 on the road in Hanuman Nagar Kankalini Municipality-1 on Friday afternoon. The motorcycle rider, 21-year-old Lakshman Mandal, a resident of the same municipality, died from his injuries while being treated at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. Additionally, one passenger on the motorcycle and the rickshaw driver are receiving treatment at Bhardaha Hospital.

In Ilam, 64-year-old Bhim Maya Rai died on Friday evening after being hit by a pickup truck with registration number ME.1 CHA 5999 on the road in Rong Rural Municipality-1. She sustained severe injuries and passed away while being treated at B&C Hospital, Jhapa, after initial treatment at Srinidhi Hospital, Phikkal. The pickup driver has been detained by the police.

Authorities are conducting necessary investigations regarding the accidents.
