Public holiday for Muslims tomorrow
Kathmandu, September 15 — The government has announced a public holiday for Muslims tomorrow (Monday).
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a public notice on Sunday stating that the holiday will be observed exclusively for Muslims.
The notice states, “According to the Gazette published on January 13, 2024, arrangements have been made for a public holiday on the occasion of Mawlid, or Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday. The Muslim Commission has informed that Mawlid falls on September 16, 2024, which is a Monday. Therefore, a public holiday will be observed on September 16, 2024, exclusively for Nepali Muslims.”
