Trading volume rises as NEPSE index climbs
Kathmandu, September 12 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose significantly on Thursday, the final trading day of the week. The index increased by 78 points, reaching 2,688.
Previously, on September 3, the NEPSE had risen by 6.94 points. After seven trading days, the market saw a notable uptick on Thursday. On that day, the share prices of 229 companies increased, while 12 companies saw their prices fall, and 3 companies' prices remained unchanged.
There was also an improvement in trading volume on Thursday. A total of 1,94,00,000 shares from 318 companies were traded, amounting to a turnover of NPR 8.16 billion, compared to NPR 6.65 billion on Wednesday.
Additionally, on Thursday, the sub-index for collective mutual funds decreased by 0.09%, while all other sub-indices saw an increase.
