Nepal Bar Association begins sit-in at Judicial Council

Kathmandu, September 1 — The Nepal Bar Association has launched a sit-in protest at the Judicial Council, beginning at noon on Sunday at Ramshahpath, to voice various demands.

President Gopalkrishna Ghimire announced that the protest is aimed at ensuring transparency in the appointment of judges and addressing previous amendments that need correction.

The Bar Association has expressed dissatisfaction with the current process, claiming that the preferences of lawyers have been overlooked in favor of staff appointments, and accusing the system of manipulating judge appointments based on these preferences.
