CPN (US) elects office-bearers
Kathmandu, August 28 —The CPN (Unified Socialist) held elections and selected 17 office bearers. The elections took place on Tuesday to choose the vice-chairmen, deputy general secretaries, and secretaries, with the final results announced on Wednesday morning.
Jayanti Devi Rai has been elected as the female vice-chairman, defeating Ramkumari Jhankri. Dharmanath Prasad Sah was chosen as the vice-chairman from the Madhesi Community, while Dr. Gangalal Tuladhar, Bhanubhakta Joshi, Prakash Jwala, and Jagannath Khatiwada were elected vice-chairman in open category.
Ram Kumar Bhattarai was elected deputy general secretary, along with Metmani Chaudhary, Garima Shah, and Rajendra Kumar Rai.
Ganesh Bahadur Bishwakarma was elected as secretary in Dalit category, while Baldev Chaudhary was elected in Indigenous community category.
Shreenath Baral, Sher Bahadur Kunwar, Chandra Bahadur Shahi, Som Prasad Pandey, and Sabitra Kumari Bhusal won positions as secretary in the open category.
Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Nepal and Ghanashyam Bhusal were unanimously elected as chairman, honorable leader and general secretary, respectively from the 10th General Convention.
Rajendra Pandey was elected senior vice-chairman without opposition on Tuesday.
With these appointments, the election of the CPN Unified Socialists' functionaries is now complete.
