Three missing after Isuzu Hilux plunges into Sunkoshi
Kathmandu, August 24 - Three people are missing after an Isuzu Hilux veered off the road and plunged into the Sunkoshi river in Sindhuli. The accident occurred on Saturday at 5:30 PM at Kundel in Golanjar Rural Municipality Ward No. 1.
The victims were returning from a visit to the Halesi Temple in Khotang.
The missing individuals are driver Abin Bakay, and passengers Praneet Syago and Balam Ghatuwa. After the vehicle fell into the river, one person, Sushant Kashpati, managed to swim to safety.
Acting Chief District Officer of Sindhuli, Krishnamani Phuyal, informed that Kakshhapati sustained injuries to his back and head and was taken to Khurkot for treatment.
The vehicle has already been located and the search for the three missing persons is ongoing.
The accident occurred as the vehicle was returning to Bhaktapur via Mid-hill highway.
Phuyal noted that 10 APF officers and 25 Nepal Police personnel have been deployed to assist in the search efforts.
