Flood alert: Risk of flash flood in Chitwan, Nawalparasi, and surrounding areas
Kathmandu, August 20 - The Koili Banganga River in Kapilvastu exceeded its alert level this morning. The Department of Water and Meteorology has issued a warning for heightened vigilance in the area until 4 p.m. today.
Currently, the water levels in the Narayani River and its tributaries, including the Kaligandaki and other rivers like Tinau, Banganga, and others, are approaching alert levels and are expected to rise further.
In Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Palpa, and Rupandehi, river flows are anticipated to increase significantly today. The department has advised caution due to the elevated risk of flash floods.
