Dengue 'hotspot' Tanahun reports highest infections

Kathmandu, August 19 - Tanahun district has emerged as the main hotspot for dengue infections. Recent data shows that Tanahun has reported the highest number of cases in the country.

The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) indicates that of the 3,755 confirmed dengue cases nationwide since January, Tanahun alone accounts for 715 cases.

EDCD reports that dengue has spread to 74 out of 77 districts, with Tanahun representing 19 percent of the total infections.

Other districts with significant cases include Kathmandu with 354, Kaski with 274, and Jhapa with 147.

Dengue cases are also notably high in Chitwan (145), Parbat (136), Makawanpur (90), and Gorkha (85), as well as Sankhuwasabha (83) and Bhojpur (82). These ten districts have recorded the highest number of dengue infections in the country.
