Simran is Miss Tamang 2018

Kathmandu - Simran Syangbo of Parsa has been crowned Miss Tamang 2018. 
Simran outclassed 28 competitors to clinch the title. Pinky Ghising, the Miss Tamang 2017 title-holder, crowned Simran in the 11th episode of Miss Tamang Beauty and Talent Contest held at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza here on Saturday. 


The event was jointly organised by Nepal Tamang Art and Culture Centre and the Everest Fashion Home. 
Simran got the highest number of votes to win the title. She has bagged Rs 100 thousand prize along with the title. She will also be the brand ambassador of Civil Group for a year. 


Similarly, Ranjita Lama of Nuwakot won the Image Viewer Choice title along with first runner-up, Kunchhan Lama of Kathmandu won the title of Photo Viewers Choice with the second runner-up. 
Rupa Ghising won the Best Catwalk title, Aashiqa Bal the Best Personality title, Geetanjali Pakhrin of Makawanpur won the Beautiful Smile title, Simran Lama the Best Friendship title, Kristina Lama the Best Discipline title and Priyanka Lama the Best Beautiful Hair title. 


Centre founder Milan Moktan said that they have been organising the Miss Tamang Beauty Contest to preserve the art, culture, costumes and tradition of the Tamang people. 
Contestants were of the age group of 16 to 26 years. The best 10 contestants were decided on the basis of SMS voting. The Miss Tamng Beuty Contest has been taking place since 2006. 


Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising and 16 lawmakers from the Tamang community were feted on the occasion in recognition of their contribution to their respective fields.
