Air Dynasty crash: Identities of Chinese nationals still unknown
Kathmandu, August 11: The identity of the Chinese citizens killed in the Air Dynasty chopper crash remains undisclosed. The delay in revealing the identity is due to the delay in collecting information from the victim's family.
Dr. Gopal Prasad Chaudhary, head of the Forensic Department at the TU Teaching Hospital, said that efforts are still underway to identify the bodies of Chinese tourists Judad Tang (male), Ji Li (male), Zeming Xi (male) and Yiad Wu (female)."We are gathering information from the relatives to establish their identities," Dr. Chaudhary said. "However, we have not yet received complete data, so the bodies are being kept preserved."
The identification of the deceased is being conducted using the Disaster Victim Identification System, which includes postmortem examinations. Dr. Chaudhary explained that the process involves examining fingerprints, dental records, and permanent marks such as tattoos, as well as clothing and jewelry for identification purposes.
The crash occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 7, when an Air Dynasty helicopter traveling from Kathmandu to Syafrubesi in Rasuwa crashed in Shivapuri, Nuwakot. In addition to the four Chinese nationals, Captain Arun Malla also perished in the accident. Captain Malla’s body has been returned to his family.
