Seven dead in Baglung landslides amid heavy rain

Pokhara: Landslides caused by incessanty rain in Baglung have claimed the lives of seven people across various locations. The fatalities occurred in wards 9 and 10 of Badigad Rural Municipality.
In Darling of Badigad-10, a landslide buried eight members of the same family. So far, five bodies have been recovered, and two people are still missing. Rural Municipality Chairperson Gandaki Thapa Adhikari informed that one individual has been rescued with injuries. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed.

Police confirmed that 14-year-old Bdhana Pariyar died in a landslide at a new settlement in Ward No. 9 earlier in the morning. Additionally, 24-year-old Ganga Basnet was killed in a landslide in the Khare River area of the same ward.
Rescue operations are underway, with police and the army involved in the efforts.
