CIB chief being investigated: IGP Kunwar
Kathmandu: Inspector General of Police Basanta Kunwar has said that an investigation has commenced against Shyam Gyawali, head of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police. Speaking at the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Kunwar said that an investigation is being conducted based on the application received from the concerned office.
AIG Tek Prasad Rai has proceeded with the investigation. Gyawali has been accused of working in favor of former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in cooperatives embezzlement case.
IGP Kunwar refused to divulge other details citing the ongoing internal investigation.
