Suspicion swirls: MP Sapkota claims PAC Head met with businessman who skipped electricity bills

Kathmandu: MP Madhav Sapkota of the Maoist Center has claimed that the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament held a suspicious meeting with a businessman who has not paid his electricity bills.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, he called for an investigation into the meeting.

MP Sapkota stated, "The debate on the issue of dedicated feeders and trunk lines is still ongoing in the Public Accounts Committee. However, there are reports of a dubious meeting between the committee's chairman and a businessman with a questionable background who has also failed to pay his arrears. I urge a thorough investigation into this alleged abuse of official responsibility."

Currently, MP Rishikesh Pokharel of the CPN UML is serving as the chairman of Public Accounts Committee.
