Dengue infection verified in 172 individuals in the Kathmandu Valley

Kathymandu:  Infection with dengue has been verified in 172 individuals in the Kathmandu Valley comprising 122 residents of Kathmandu , 27 of Bhaktapur, and 18 of Lalitpur districts respectively.

The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) reports that 1,175 individuals in 72 districts nationwide have contracted the infection.

As per the most recent data provided by EDCD, 1,175 individuals nationwide have been proven to have contracted dengue between January 2024 and June 15.

The breeding habitat of Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes during the monsoon causes dengue to spread, told EDCD.
