Lawmakers demand to rescue disaster survivors on time

Kathmandu, June 14: Lawmaker of the House of Representatives, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, has demanded the government to rescue the disaster survivors on time. During the emergency hour in today's meeting of the House of Representatives, leader Bhattarai drew government's attention towards its failure to rescue disaster victims on time in lack of adequate means and resources. Also the Secretary of the CPN (UML), he extended sorrow over the death of four members of the same family after landslide following incessant rainfall for the past few days buried them at Phaktanglung rural municipality-2 of Taplegunj district where two persons were injured. Four members of the family of vice-chairperson of Phaktanglung rural municipality, Bikas Limbu, died in the incident. Lawmaker Bhattarai drew government's attention to provide relief to the affected families.

Similarly, Leela Bokhim asked the government to make arrangement of helicopter for the rescue during emergency as the landslide has made huge loss of lives and properties as well as obstructed the vehicular movement, expressing grief over the death of four persons of a single family due to landslide. Bokhim also demanded arrangement of immediate rescue and relief.

Likewise, Bijula Rayamajhi extended sorrow over the incident where Baburam Gharti, 31, of Sandhikharka-7 in Arghakhachi died from electric shock in Palpa while serving the people. Rayamajhi demanded the government to make arrangement of appropriate relief to the victim family, asking to provide compensation to the families of the victim, losing their lives while serving the people, making a clear policy. She also demanded the government to be serious on the issue of women security.
