Light rain forecasted in hilly areas, thunderstorms possible in plains

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that due to the influence of westerly and local winds, the hilly regions across the country, including Sudurpaschim, are currently experiencing rainfall.

Conversely, the weather in other parts of the country remains generally fair.

In the hilly areas of Koshi province and selected spots in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, there is a likelihood of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Additionally, isolated locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions may witness light snowfall.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain fair overall, with the possibility of light rain in isolated areas of the hilly regions.

Furthermore, the forecast indicates that thunderstorms may occur in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Meanwhile, Lumbini and certain plains areas in Sudurpaschim Province could experience stormy weather, as outlined in the morning weather bulletin issued by the Department.
