Thunderstorm Alert: Five provinces on watch

KATHMANDU: Brace yourselves, as thunderstorms might rumble through the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces after noon today.

The forecast also predicts partial cloud cover in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, with clear skies elsewhere in the country.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology attributes this weather pattern to the combined effects of westerly winds and local air currents.

Residents in the hilly areas, particularly in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, should be prepared for possible light rain accompanied by lightning.

As night falls, expect clear skies in Sudur Paschim and Karnali provinces, with partial cloud cover in other regions.

There's a chance of light snowfall in select high hills and mountain areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
