Thunderstorm Likely in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali regions

KATHMANDU: The weather forecast for today indicates partly cloudy skies in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Madhes provinces, with clear conditions prevailing elsewhere across the country.

This meteorological variation is attributed to the partial influence of westerly winds combined with local wind patterns, as reported by the weather forecast division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The department has issued a thunderstorm warning for the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces for today.

Additionally, there is a likelihood of light rain accompanied by lightning in certain areas of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Madhes provinces, as well as isolated locations in other hilly areas.

Some areas in the high hilly and mountainous regions, particularly in Sudur Pachim Province, may also experience light snowfall.

As night falls, the weather is expected to remain clear in the hilly parts of the country, including the Gandaki and Karnali regions.

However, there remains a possibility of light rain accompanied by lightning in isolated locations within the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Additionally, light snowfall may occur at a few places in the high hills and mountain regions of Koshi and Karnali provinces during the night.
