Shree Airlines expands fleet with two new aircraft

KATHMANDU: Shree Airlines has further bolstered its fleet with the addition of two 80-seater aircraft.

The private sector airline acquired the 'Dash 8' planes manufactured by De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (DHC).

According to Anil Mananadhar, the institutional manager of Shree Airlines, the two aircraft, bearing the call signs 9N-AOK and 9N-AOL, landed in Kathmandu today. These aircraft were previously operated by Horizon Air and Alaska Air in the United States.

Manandhar stated that both aircraft will undergo the necessary processes mandated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) before being deployed for commercial flights. Following completion of these procedures, the planes will soon join Shree Airlines' operational fleet.

With this latest acquisition, Shree Airlines now boasts a fleet of 10 aircraft in addition to its existing eight helicopters. Since commencing regular flights in 2017, the airline has steadily expanded its operations to various destinations across Nepal.

Initially starting with two 50-seater CRJ 200 aircraft and two 70-seater RJ 700 jet planes, Shree Airlines has continually expanded its fleet. It previously added two 80-seater aircraft in 2019 and again in 2022, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing connectivity and service quality for passengers.

The expansion of Shree Airlines' fleet underscores its dedication to meeting the growing demands of domestic air travel while contributing to Nepal's aviation sector's development.
