Cloudy weather continues, rain expected in Western Region

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has extended its forecast, predicting continued cloudy weather for the next three days, with a likelihood of rain in the western region of the country.

The Division anticipates light rain accompanied by lightning in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces over the next three days.

Additionally, there is a possibility of general rainfall in the hilly areas of the far-western and mid-western regions starting from today.

Meteorologist Saroj Pudasaini highlighted the influence of westerly winds and local winds currently affecting Nepal's weather patterns.

He mentioned that while the eastern part of the country experienced rainfall earlier, the western region remained dry. However, there are expectations for precipitation in the western region in the coming days.

Pudasaini stated, "There is an influence of westerly wind and local wind in Nepal now, and it is still partly cloudy in the hilly parts of the country, including Koshi province."

According to the Division's forecast, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as at one or two places in the Madhes province and other hilly regions within the next 24 hours
