CIB interviews lawmaker Binod Chaudhary over Bansbari Land Grab Scam

KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has conducted an interview with Nepali Congress lawmaker Binod Chaudhary regarding his alleged involvement in the misappropriation of land belonging to the Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory.

Today, the CIB took Mr. Chaudhary's statement following prior notification to Speaker Devraj Ghimire through the Parliament Secretariat, indicating their commencement of investigations against the lawmaker in connection with the government land misappropriation.

CIB Chief Shyam Lal Gyawali confirmed that Mr. Chaudhary's statement is being recorded at the District Government Attorney's Office.

Additionally, AIG Gyawali emphasized that Mr. Chaudhary is providing his statement directly, without the necessity of arrest, as there is currently no indication of his intent to abscond or tamper with evidence.
