Ministry of Home Affairs directs DAOs to establish facilitation desks for usury victims' grievances
KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued directives to district administration officers (DAOs) nationwide to establish facilitation desks aimed at promptly addressing the complaints, petitions, and grievances of usury victims.
Spokesperson for the Home Ministry, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, disclosed that the directive was issued in accordance with the four-point agreement signed on March 11 between the ministry and the usury victims' struggle committee.
District administration offices have been instructed to establish facilitation desks and assign officer-level employees to handle complaints, petitions, and grievances related to usury. Furthermore, details of the designated employees, including their name, position, email, contact number, and other means of contact, are to be made public on the office's website.
Additionally, Chiranjivi GM, Section Officer at the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been designated as the contact person to coordinate with DAOs and other agencies in addressing complaints from usury victims.
