Tragic bus accident claims nine lives in Nisikhola
DHORPATAN: A devastating bus accident in Nisikhola has left nine people dead, shaking the community as the identities of all victims are now known.
The victims include Lucky Pun Magar, 18, from Dang; Binita KC, 27, from Musikot municipality-1 in Rukum West; bus owner Bobydadel Nepali from Musikot-2; Tika KC, 35, from Musikot-4; Kalpana KC from Musikot-3; bus driver Man Singh BK from Rolpa; Gita Thapa from Gorkha; Sujan Maharjan from Lalitpur; and Bikram Pariyar, 25, from Sisne rural municipality-5 in Rukum West.
The tragic incident occurred when a bus (Bagmati Province 01-006Kha 3879), traveling from Rukum East to Kathmandu, veered off the road in Baglung district along the Mid-Hill highway on Monday evening. Seven individuals lost their lives instantly, while two passed away while receiving treatment at the Burtibang primary health center, according to Madan KC, the information officer of the District Police Office, Baglung.
Of the 28 injured, one remains hospitalized at Burtibang primary health center, while 27 others have been transferred to Baglung-based Dhawalagiri Hospital.
The bodies of seven victims were sent to Rukum on Monday night, while two are being kept at the Burtibang primary health center.
